Butt Implants Beverly Hills
Massive weight loss, such as after bariatric surgery, as well as gravity and the natural process of aging often leads to excess skin, and a loss of skin elasticity, collagen and thickness around the buttocks and thigh area. This can result in a sagging and dimpled appearance. In addition, due to socio-cultural tendencies, more and more patients are seeking to enlarge their buttocks to achieve firmer and more aesthetically pleasing contours. A buttock lift is a surgical procedure that can help reduce loose skin, increase volume and elasticity, and improve the appearance of the area by tightening and smoothing the skin's surface.
What are my Buttock Lift Options?
The use of implants, either injectable foreign body or silicone, have variable results, which to say the least, are not positive in their effects. Silicone implants can reposition, shift and become quite uncomfortable. In many situations, they become infected resulting in morbidity, and removal of the implants can cause significant deformity. Also, in certain situations, patients have undergone injections of liquid silicone into their buttocks with poor, sometimes disastrous, results such as lumpiness, presence of foreign body mass, infection, leakage and nerve compression. These patients complain of significant discomfort including having a rock-like feeling in the area of injection as well as nerve compression symptoms such as pain and numbness extending down the affected leg. Therefore, when patients are considering implants, injectable silicone and other non-FDA approved chemicals for buttock augmentation, it is highly recommended for them to seek a second opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon.
At Avosant, we do not perform silicone implants in the buttocks, but instead offer two types of procedures. One is large volume autologous micro-fat grafting for buttock augmentation. With this surgical technique, which Dr. Golshani has successfully performed in more than 2,000 cases, patients benefit from a very natural and supple filling of their buttocks with the use of their own fat, which functions as a living transplant and has significantly natural outcomes. Because up to 50% of the fat transplant is expected to be lost in the first six months, we accommodate by over-injecting and using a micro-fat grafting technique that has proven to result in significant survival of the transplanted fat with a natural look, feel, and soft, full-appearing buttocks.
The second procedure, a buttock lift, is best for patients who have undergone massive weight loss resulting in excess skin and a loss of elasticity in the area. This surgical procedure can correct these problems by removing the excess skin and fat, tightening the area and lifting the buttocks. It can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures such as a thigh lift or an overall body lift.
