Our Philosophy Less Is More
I believe in the philosophy of “less is more” in matching the treatment to the problem. We aim for excellent, personalized, and transformative results without over-treatment. If a problem is easily solved by using products, I won’t recommend more complicated treatments such as lasers or injectables. When we can help you reach your goals with injectables or lasers, I won’t recommend surgery. And when surgery is the appropriate way to address your needs, I’ll recommend the safest, least invasive, and most effective approach.
This “less is more” philosophy was a key lesson in my training as a surgeon, and I take it to heart in every aspect of my practice. In reconstructive surgery and wound care, it’s known as the “reconstructive ladder”: Consider the simplest and least invasive approach first, then, and only as needed, move up the ladder to more complex treatment options. Applying the philosophy to cosmetic treatments and surgeries guides me, my staff, and my patients to the most beautiful and natural-looking results.
A Partnership Approach
We believe plastic surgery is most effective and yields the best results when viewed as a team effort, with you as the most valuable player in transforming yourself for the better. As this journey is all about you, you must be an active member of our team both before and after your treatments or surgical procedures. Our aim is to be your partner in positive transformation.
That partnership begins during your initial consultation when we will ask questions and listen carefully to understand your concerns and your goals for treatment. Based on your consultation, a physical examination, and a review of your medical history, my staff and I will devise an individualized plan just for you. That will include a treatment approach that’s customized to your body, your face, your skin, and your hopes for improvement. It might also involve you taking steps to prepare yourself and following our guidance and support as you make them. You might need to stop smoking for a few weeks before plastic surgery, for example, or reach a healthy and stable weight for optimal body contouring results.
That partnership approach continues after your surgery, where you again play a key role, with our expert guidance, in taking care of yourself to promote healing. During and after your recovery period, we’re available to answer questions and help you make the most of your cosmetic or reconstructive improvements. Our office door is always open to you. Even if you need to see me several years after your surgical procedure, just call us at (310) 274-3481 or complete our online form and make an appointment. We want to know that you’re doing well and that we are always here for you.
