Liposculpture | Brazilian Liposculpture in Beverly Hills
You’ve probably heard of liposuction, but have you heard of liposculpture? Liposculpture is a minimally invasive procedure that combines the slimming effects of liposuction with the volume enhancement of fat grafting to reshape multiple areas of your body. In liposculpture, unwanted fat is removed from one part of your body—your waistline, hips, thighs, or upper arms, for example—and purified for injection into another part of your body, where more volume is wanted, such as your breasts or buttocks. Buttock enhancement with liposculpture is also known as Brazilian liposculpture or a Brazilian butt lift.
Liposculpture is completely customized to resculpt your body and bring your curves and proportions into beautiful balance. Fat removed with liposuction can also be used to enhance facial appearance in a facial fat grafting procedure.

Another appeal is that your fat tissue is used for volume enhancement. No implants or manufactured fillers are used, and the results are very long-lasting.

Planning Your Los Angeles Liposculpture Procedure
Your consultation with Dr. Golshani is critical in planning a successful liposculpture procedure. A patient coordinator will meet with you briefly before Dr. Golshani joins the consultation and will stay in the room to take notes. Dr. Golshani will ask questions to understand your treatment goals and the details of your medical history. He will then examine you to assess the extent and location of excess fat on your body and your skin’s resilience. Based on your goals and Dr. Golshani’s examination, he will recommend an approach to the treatment. He will explain the treatment process, how to prepare and care for yourself afterward, your likely outcome, and your risks.
Dr. Golshani will answer questions about the procedure, and the patient coordinator will answer your non-surgical questions. It’s Dr. Golshani’s goal to ensure you are prepared to make informed decisions about the surgery and you understand your role throughout the process.
Are You a Good Candidate for Liposculpture?
Dr. Golshani will discuss with you whether you are a good candidate for liposculpture in your consultation. You are probably an ideal candidate if you:
- Have specific areas of excess fat on your body suitable for liposuction
- Would like to add volume to another part of your body, such as your breasts, hips, or buttocks
- Are within 20 to 30 pounds of your ideal body weight
- Have good skin tone and elasticity
- Are in good overall health
- Do not smoke, or can quit smoking for six weeks before and after the surgery
- Have realistic expectations for the outcomes of the treatment
- Are aware of the risks
For the best results, areas treated with liposuction should have resilient skin that will tighten and smooth naturally after the fat is removed. If you have mild skin laxity, the treatment can be enhanced with thermal, laser, or ultrasound technologies to remove fat and tighten the skin. If you have moderate to advanced skin sagging, Dr Golshani may recommend combining liposculpture with a comprehensive procedure, such as a tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift, or neck lift.
How to Prepare for Your Liposculpture Procedure
Dr. Golshani will provide specific instructions on how to prepare for your treatment. These may include measures to take in the weeks before surgery, such as stopping smoking and fortifying your health, and short-term measures, such as discontinuing certain medications and avoiding herbal supplements in the days just before your procedure.
What to Expect on the Day of Your Beverly Hills Liposculpture Procedure
Liposculpture is performed on an outpatient basis, using either general anesthesia or a local anesthetic with sedation. The procedure is performed in our state-of-the-art surgical center, the Rexford Surgical Institute, which is in our building on the same floor as our office. Liposculpture is a two-step procedure—liposuction, followed by fat grafting.
For your liposuction procedure, once you are numbed and sedated or asleep, a tumescent fluid is injected into the treatment area. This solution is made up of saline, to expand the fatty tissue, lidocaine, as a local anesthetic to numb the tissue, and epinephrine, to minimize bleeding. Dr. Golshani will then make small incisions to insert a thin surgical tube, or cannula, and extract the fat. Movement of the cannula, thermal heating, laser energy, or ultrasound may be used to help break up the fat for extraction, and some of these methods enhance skin resilience for post-treatment tightening.
Dr. Golshani takes great care to remove fat symmetrically and evenly, for smooth, natural-looking plastic surgery results. Some fat must be left to ensure skin health. When sufficient fat has been removed from the treated areas, the liposuction incisions are closed.
A portion of the fat that has been removed is then liquified and purified for the fat grafting injections. Using the same care and precision used to perform liposuction, Dr. Golshani carefully injects your fat into the area where you want more volume to complete the enhancement aspects of liposculpture. Once the effects of the anesthesia have worn off and you are fully alert, a trusted friend or family member can drive you home.
What to Expect After Your Liposculpture Procedure
Plan to rest at home for a few days. You can expect some swelling and bruising that will gradually subside over the next 2 to 3 weeks. Any discomfort you experience can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. You may be fitted with compression garments or bandages to minimize swelling and support healing. We will ask you to refrain from lifting, running, or other physically demanding tasks while you heal.
If you have had fat added to your buttocks, in Brazilian Liposculpture or a Brazilian Butt Lift, you will not be able to sit flat during the first two weeks of your recovery process. This gives the new fat a chance to take shape without being flattened.
If you have had fat added to your breasts, we recommend wearing a well-fitting support bra without an underwire to help keep the new fat in place for a rounded breast shape. Dr. Golshani and his staff will provide thorough instructions on how to care for yourself as you recover and when to return for follow-up visits. Final results are typically visible in about six months as the residual swelling resolves.

Frequently Asked Questions About Liposculpture
At our surgical facility in Beverly Hills, we practice the highest standards of safety and care. While all procedures have some level of risk, Dr. Golshani’s education and training ensure you are in safe hands. The risks of liposuction include bleeding, skin ulcers, infection, or nerve injury. Dr. Golshani and his team will go above and beyond to ensure you are safe and comfortable during and after your procedure.
Dr. Golshani’s care and medical expertise are particularly important for your safety if you choose a buttock augmentation with fat grafting. Brazilian Liposculpture or a Brazilian Butt Lift, in the hands of a less skilled and experienced surgeon, carries the additional risk of the grafted fat entering the bloodstream, traveling to the lungs, and causing a pulmonary embolism, which can be fatal. Investigations have shown that this can happen when fat is injected deep into the muscle of the buttocks, and when the enhancement is overdone, putting pressure on the grafted fat. Dr. Golshani will only inject fat below the skin, not into the muscles of the buttocks, and will only use enough fat to make a moderate enhancement. These measures greatly reduce the risks of the procedure.
The fat cells extracted with liposuction are removed permanently. They will not grow back, and fat from other parts of your body will not migrate to the area to replace them. However, while the extracted fat cells will not return, the remaining fat cells in the area can grow with weight gain.
Some portion of the grafted fat will be processed out of the body in the weeks after the procedure. The portion that remains will remain permanently.
For optimal long-term results, adopt healthy eating and exercise habits to maintain a stable weight.
